A​ journey is the passage or progress from one stage to another, usually taking place over a long period of time; with the goal being personal or professional growth and development.

Self-Evaluation

Journey Begins 2018

We set off on our continuous improvement process journey in the Fall of 2018 knowing that the lessons we learn along the way will always be more valuable than the destination itself.​

Year 1

  • Review the external report from previous visit 
  • Begin discussions on goals and action plans 
  • Review and revise ESU mission, vision and purpose
  • Complete staff survey to determine baseline data
  • Begin self assessment utilizing Nebraska Framework

Educational Innovation for teaching and Learning

Vision: 
The vision of Educational Service Unit 5 is to Enhance opportunities for all learners by continuously providing respectful, equitable, innovative, collaborative and responsive leadership and support.




Year 2

  • Completion of self-assessment by entire staff
  • Creation of all ESU action plan/Goal
  • Documentation of 'what is an effective program' for each department? 
  • Discussion and determination of departmental data collection. 

Goal:

ESU 5 will develop systems to utilize data to make informed decisions about the effectiveness of the program and supports offered to member districts.
